About the F1 Reaction Test
The F1 Reaction Test challenges your **visual and auditory reaction time** in a scenario inspired by the start of a Formula 1 race. You must click the screen as soon as the final red light turns **green**. A false start (clicking before the light turns green) results in a penalty.
How It Works (The F1 Start)
- **Lights Off:** The test starts with the lights off, and the message *'Wait for the red lights...'*.
- **Red Lights:** Five red lights will turn on sequentially, one by one.
- **Random Delay:** After all five red lights are on, there is a **random delay** (typically 1-4 seconds) before the lights turn green.
- **GO!:** The final click turns the lights **green**, and the test area changes color.
- **Click:** Click the screen as fast as possible to stop the timer. Your time is measured in **milliseconds (ms)**.
Score Interpretation
Most human reaction times fall in the **200-300ms** range. Reaction times under **150ms** are considered exceptional.
The Science Behind Reaction Time
Reaction time is the interval between the presentation of a stimulus (the green light) and the initiation of a motor response (the click). It involves signal transmission from the eyes to the brain, processing, and finally, motor command to the finger. This test specifically measures **simple reaction time**.
